ThugRadio.Net is a super sexy website with companion message board and, of course, there's a slightly demented Twitter along with a BlogSpot & a visual feast via YouTube & DailyMotion. I used to have a Rap/R&B radio show and the site was initially set-up as a guide to what I have and can play on the show. The show has since been discontinued, but I've done much too much work on the site to let it die, so I started adding purchase information in hopes of making a little bit of money through the magical power of website affiliation. With Facebook, MySpace & the like I add people who are interested in Rap, Hip-Hop, Soul, R&B, Funk, Comedy and the such in hopes that they may find the site interesting and/or contribute to the Thug Radio Message Board eventually making ThugRadio a global empire followed by world domination. Or something like that.

ThugRadio.Net’s Album Of The Week May 28, 2012

See More News & More News (Goes Further Back)

Album Of The Week: This week’s ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is actually more of a collection than an album. It’s part greatest hits, part guest appearance compilation, part unreleased collection and all an amazing collection. by one of the greatest rappers of all-time. Not coincidentally, he also happens to be on of my favorite rappers of all-time. He joined the greats after completing only two albums, before his untimely demise at the age of 28. In his short time here he mastered the radio-friendly & hardcore street jams. What chu wanna do? You wanna wild out? You wanna dance? He had it all locked-down, baby. This week’s ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is Big Pun with Endangered Species.

ThugRadio.Net Update May 26, 2012: The Machine Stole My Gnome

See More News & More News (Goes Further Back)

~May 26, 2012: The Machine Stole My Gnome~

Album Of The Week: This week’s ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is something I’ve been wanting to hear for about two or three years, but, due to a multiple moves, it’s been in a box and, for some reason, it was packed before I ripped it for Zune or iPod. Finally I got fed up and went through a few boxes until I found it. Now it’s ripped and on Sancho and sounding beautiful. It’s by an artist who has had great success as a solo artist and has been a part of multiple groups, including Riflemen, Four Horsemen, Originals, N’Mates and, most famously, Tha Dogg Pound. He brought and East Coast aesthetic to the West Coast and blended it seemlessly with a gangsta mentality. This week’s ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is Kurupt with Space Boogie: Smoke Oddessey.

Amazon.ComImage Freebie Of The Week: This week’s Amazon.ComImagePrime Members’Image free streaming video of the week is a movie that I expected to be a retarded mindless action film, but actually turned out to be pretty enjoyable the second time. The first time I tried to watch it my TiVo cut off the end. ShooterImage.

Random Shit: I recently had my first ever drive-in experience and by experience I mean…I watched a movie. Actually, I watched two movies. I didn’t even know drive-ins still existed until I moved here a few months ago. Last night my friend and I went to the drive-in to see The AvengersImage and “got” to see John CarterImage for a grand total of $6.25 total. It was fuckin’ awesome, except for the John CarterImage part. Lynn CollinsImage was pretty hot, though. Overall, two movies for $6.25 and sitting in the comfortable car, with the ability to control the temperature and volume and bring our own snacks without having to worry about talking or cell phones was pretty awesome, except for the John CarterImage part. The only bad part was the fuckin’ douchebag in the s.u.v. who parked in front of us and had his tailgate up and his inside lights on through half of The AvengersImage. He’s obviously a douchebag just for driving an s.u.v., but is the extra assholic behavior really necessary? You drive an s.u.v. I get it, you’re a douchebag. You don’t have to be an anal sphincter at the same time. In summary, drive-in: Fuckin’ Awesome! Assholic douchebags: Turd Nuggets!

ThugRadio.Net Update May 19, 2012: Ricky Spanish Loves Captain Stabbin’

See More News & More News (Goes Further Back)

~May 19, 2012: Ricky Spanish Loves Captain Stabbin’~

Album Of The Week: This week’s ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is something new by a pair of vets. One is one of Hip-Hop’s great legendary producers. The other is one of the rawest cats to dwell in the Hip-Hop underground. They’ve been associates and collaborators since the early ’90s. Their first full album together is certified uncut Hip-Hop. If you don’t have it, get it, hold it, caress it and snuggle with it. Oh yeah, and listen to it. This week’s ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is DJ Premier & Bumpy Knuckles with KoleXXXion.

Album Of The Week: Last week’s ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week was by a group that was recently inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. They went from being a hardcore Punk band to being an innovative and groundbreaking Hip-Hop group. Their debut album as a Hip-Hop group was the first Hip-Hop album to top the Billboard chart. Last week’s ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week was Beastie Boys with Ill Communication.

Amazon.ComImage Freebie Of The Week: This week’s Amazon.ComImagePrime Members’Image free streaming video of the week is one of the great accomplishments in cinema. It’s humorous, touching, inspirational, moisturizing & “special”. Forrest GumpImage.

Random Shit: Every time I see Lil’ Wayne do anything it makes me think of the mentally challenged kid for whom everyone claps for every little thing he does. “Yay, Jimmy tied his shoe…kinda.” Come on, it can’t just be me.

MCA: I’ve never been a huge fan of the Beastie Boys, but I’ve always had tremendous respect for their music and innovations and I’ve enjoyed their music. They tore open the door and burst through paving the way for all future Jewish ex-Hardcore Punk bands turned Hip-Hop pioneers. I’ve actually gotten much more into the Beastie Boys in recent years. Prior to the release of Hot Sauce Committee Part Two they announced Adam “MCA” Yauch had a treatable form of cancer delaying the album while he recovered. Then it was announced the treatment was successful, he was cancer-free and the album was released. I was obviously shocked and saddened when he died last week. I’m tired of people I love and/or respect dying way too young. I originally wrote this last week, but I was too busy for a full news.

Comments: Usually I think double albums are too long, but this is one case that two discs aren’t enough for all Pac’s hits. One thing I don’t like about greatest hits is they’re not always the best songs. There are a lot of songs that I would substitute for some songs that made the greatest hits . Even though I have every 2Pac album and most guest appearances and even unreleased shit I still had to have it. If you don’t have this, you have to have it. If you don’t you are a bad person. The best of the best are Disc 1: 2, 4, 8 & 12. Disc 2: 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9 & 12. - D
