ThugRadio.Net is a super sexy website with companion message board and, of course, there's a slightly demented Twitter along with a BlogSpot & a visual feast via YouTube & DailyMotion. I used to have a Rap/R&B radio show and the site was initially set-up as a guide to what I have and can play on the show. The show has since been discontinued, but I've done much too much work on the site to let it die, so I started adding purchase information in hopes of making a little bit of money through the magical power of website affiliation. With Facebook, MySpace & the like I add people who are interested in Rap, Hip-Hop, Soul, R&B, Funk, Comedy and the such in hopes that they may find the site interesting and/or contribute to the Thug Radio Message Board eventually making ThugRadio a global empire followed by world domination. Or something like that.

ThugRadio.Net Update May 26, 2012: The Machine Stole My Gnome

See More News & More News (Goes Further Back)

~May 26, 2012: The Machine Stole My Gnome~

Album Of The Week: This week’s ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is something I’ve been wanting to hear for about two or three years, but, due to a multiple moves, it’s been in a box and, for some reason, it was packed before I ripped it for Zune or iPod. Finally I got fed up and went through a few boxes until I found it. Now it’s ripped and on Sancho and sounding beautiful. It’s by an artist who has had great success as a solo artist and has been a part of multiple groups, including Riflemen, Four Horsemen, Originals, N’Mates and, most famously, Tha Dogg Pound. He brought and East Coast aesthetic to the West Coast and blended it seemlessly with a gangsta mentality. This week’s ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is Kurupt with Space Boogie: Smoke Oddessey.

Amazon.ComImage Freebie Of The Week: This week’s Amazon.ComImagePrime Members’Image free streaming video of the week is a movie that I expected to be a retarded mindless action film, but actually turned out to be pretty enjoyable the second time. The first time I tried to watch it my TiVo cut off the end. ShooterImage.

Random Shit: I recently had my first ever drive-in experience and by experience I mean…I watched a movie. Actually, I watched two movies. I didn’t even know drive-ins still existed until I moved here a few months ago. Last night my friend and I went to the drive-in to see The AvengersImage and “got” to see John CarterImage for a grand total of $6.25 total. It was fuckin’ awesome, except for the John CarterImage part. Lynn CollinsImage was pretty hot, though. Overall, two movies for $6.25 and sitting in the comfortable car, with the ability to control the temperature and volume and bring our own snacks without having to worry about talking or cell phones was pretty awesome, except for the John CarterImage part. The only bad part was the fuckin’ douchebag in the s.u.v. who parked in front of us and had his tailgate up and his inside lights on through half of The AvengersImage. He’s obviously a douchebag just for driving an s.u.v., but is the extra assholic behavior really necessary? You drive an s.u.v. I get it, you’re a douchebag. You don’t have to be an anal sphincter at the same time. In summary, drive-in: Fuckin’ Awesome! Assholic douchebags: Turd Nuggets!

ThugRadio.Net Update March 17, 2012: Conspiracy To Commit Spermicide

See More News & More News (Goes Further Back)

~March 17, 2012: Conspiracy To Commit Spermicide~

Album Of The Week: This week’s ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is in honor of the 15th anniversary of the passing of the great Notorious B.I.G. We’ve all been bumpin’ a ton of Biggie over the last few days. For this album he’s along side his protégés on their debut album. Following the demise of The Notorious B.I.G. the group never reached their full potential and has, so far, only released one subsequent album. This week we’ll take a trip back to those happier times when they seemed unstoppable and ready to take over the world. This week’s ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is Junior M.A.F.I.A. with Conspiracy.

Amazon.ComImage Freebie Of The Week: This week’s Amazon.ComImagePrime Members’Image free streaming video of the week is one of the all-time greatest documentaries in the history of documentaries. From the world’s most famous creator of epic documentaries, Ken Burns, comes the perfect documentary for the season upon which we are embarking, BaseballImage. Inhale the beautiful brilliance. Mmmmmmm…Baseball.

Random Shit: I haven’t seen a movie in the theater since MoneyballImage. Ticket prices are pushing $10. If I go with someone it’s $20. I can buy a brand-new DVD for less than that or a brand-new Blu-Ray for just over that. Still, I think I’ll have to end my sabbatical soon. 21 Jump Street is in theaters now. American Reunion is coming out April 6th and The Avengers is coming out May 4th and is written and directed by Joss WhedonImage. Theater, here I come.

~Olds: Thesbian Slurpers~

Smurf: It’s been a while since I released any of my extravagant soliloquies of Comedy. This particular single has gone through three major stages separated by a lot of time. The writing and recording, the production and the artwork. But now all three have finally come together to form some kind of a homeless war vet amputee Voltron of Comedy. While I don’t claim any vocals on the track I did the hard work. I wrote, produced and mixed it. Yay for me! Be careful where you listen to it as it is quite possible your ears could orgasm and earjaculate will just spew all over your surroundings. Good luck explaining that. I’m tired of trying to come up with random nonsense to type, so just download it it’s free.

Raul Loves All Of The Womens: & all of the womens love him. Or so Raul declares in his new single Bitch Better Have My Slurpee. This has been sitting for awhile waiting for me to finish mixing it and adding the final touches. It’s slated for an as of yet untitled Comedy compilation &/or Raul’s own The Slurpee Chronicles, but I used it in the backing of the intro & outro of The Definitive Raul Interview Part 2: The Legend Of The 7-Eleven, so I felt it would be a good idea to have it available so those who may like it can acquire it easily. Now that you have it share it with everyone. The single features Phil M. Cockenbolz & sometimes Old Joe & it’s free so slurp it down, bitches.

Artsy Etsy: Our good friend ThugRadioSmurf is at it again. She’s started a website, through Etsy, to sell her art worldwide. This new website is in addition to Fine Art America, ImageKind.Com & ArtistWebsites.Com, where she sells her photography. Her brand new Etsy website already has a perfect 100% positive review feedback rating. You know you need some art around the house, so you can at least look cultured. Get it now before everybody wants some and the prices skyrocket and approach the ridiculous.

ThugRadio.Net Update August 24, 2011: Boobies & Waffles

See More News

~August 24, 2011: Boobies & Waffles~

Album Of The Week: This week’s ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is by a Houston-based rapper. I’m not too into southern Rap, but this gentleman is a definite stand-out. The self-declared Mixtape Messiah has built a strong reputation and following by never being afraid to give away music for free. A couple hugely popular singles helped his cause a little bit as well. The one thing I really don’t like about his music is he has a bad habit of censoring himself and his featured guests. I don’t have a problem with not using profanity, but I have a huge problem with censorship. There’s not really that much censored out and there is a Slick Rick feature, which is something of which the world needs more, and it’s really a good album, so it earned an Album Of The Week recognition this week. This week’s ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is Chamillionaire’s latest album Ultimate Victory.

Image

CDUniverse Price: $11.65 (CD)

Random Shit: I’ve recently had to change banks due to fuckin’ Chase charging me a $10 per month fee for simply having a checking account. In my search for a new account I learned that a plethora of banks are doing credit checks prior to allowing someone to open an account. As I recall it’s the banks that are the delinquents. They made bad loans to people who couldn’t pay them. They made bad investment decisions. But when they crumbled our government bailed them out with our tax money. Now they treat us like we’re the ones who can’t handle money and they charge us for holding if for us. Every time you put money in the bank the bank invests it somewhere where they get ten times (that number’s a guess) the interest you get.

~Olds: Thesbian Slurpers~

YouTube/DailyMotion: This week’s YouTube/DailyMotion triumph of the week is nonexistent. I’m trying to do too many things and I worry about the quality suffering. So I’m just gonna upload videos as I get them done.

Raul Loves All Of The Womens: & all of the womens love him. Or so Raul declares in his new single Bitch Better Have My Slurpee. Baby Talk The E.P.(ic): The real news is the release of my new single, the follow-up to such classics as Blue (Promo Single), Sweet Liberty Johnson: The Delicious E.P., Parking Garage/Gangsta (Double Single), MySpace (Single), Busted (Single) & Torture (Yet Another 2010 San Francisco Giants Song) (Single). This latest single acts as a bridge between Baby Talk & Baby Talk #2: The Shit That Wasn’t Good Enough For Volume 1 Plus Some New Shit. It’s called Baby Talk The E.P.(ic) & like a real baby it should have been aborted, but it’s too late & now it’s here, so you might as well enjoy it, embrace it, feed it, change it, burp it & listen to it late at night when you can’t sleep.

I forgot to include the lyrics in the zip, so I posted them on the Thug Radio Message Board. Now you can have your own sing-along. If you’re shy you can just have a read-along. If your deaf you can just enjoy the beautifully written lyrics & giggle inaudibly to yourself.

Album Of The Week: This week’s ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is a first. This week marks the first time in the history of the ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week the ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is a compilation album. To be more specific it’s a Soundtrack album. Remember those? It may very well be the last great Soundtrack. It’s definitely the last great Death Row Soundtrack. It’s two discs, featuring the likes of 2Pac (on four of his best tracks), Snoop, Tha Dogg Pound, Nate Dogg, Ice Cube, Tech N9ne, Outlawz and many more, with very few skipable tracks, most of which are on disc two. This week’s ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is the Soundtrack for the movie starring 2Pac and the delicious Lela Rochan Gang Related.

ThugRadio.Net’s Update March 23, 2011: Regulators…Mount Up

See More News & Other More News

~March 23, 2011: Regulators…Mount Up~

Album Of The Week: This week’s ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is the latest Hip-Hop tragedy even though he was a singer. He put the Funk in G-Funk and spread if from the West Coast to every region. When Cali records started blowin’ the fuck up the rest of the industry knew they needed one of his patented hooks. He single-notedly took many songs to the magical land of gold & platinum making him Hip-Hop’s official hook-master. This week’s ThugRadio.Net Album Of The Week is the debut album by the recently deceased Nate Dogg, G-Funk Classics Vol. 1 & 2.

Image
Nate Dogg - G-Funk Classics Vol. 1 & 2

Nate Dogg: Yeah, more about Nate Dogg. This really fuckin’ depresses me. I would have done this last week right after he died, but I found out right after I finished posting last week’s news on all the ThugRadio.Net blogs. I think Nate Dogg’s death affected me more than any other celebrity death since 2Pac. I grew up listening to Nate and given that music is such a huge part of my life losing Nate Dogg is literally like losing a part of myself. I’ll never forget being a kid and my dad, who hated Rap music and was not black, doing the dishes and singing “Iiiiiiiiiii can’t be faded, I’m a nigga from that muthafuckin’ streeeeeeeets.” That’s how inescapable and infectious Nate was. He was never the greatest singer and he had practically no range, but his style was such that, for a long time the words of Mack 10 on “Gangsta Nation” were true, “It ain’t a hit ‘til Nate Dogg spit.” That was just the way it was from coast to coast for years if an artist wanted a hit Nate Dogg was on their album. As Ice Cube said on the aforementioned “Gangsta Nation,” “It must be a single when Nate Dogg singin’ on it.” The Nate Era was a great era for Rap music. He will be missed. Check out a collection of videos from Nate we compiled as a little dedication: BlogSpot, Forum & Tumblr.

YouTube/DailyMotion: This week’s YouTube/DailyMotion is somewhat silly. A few weeks ago I posted My Own A Cappella Version Of Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come”. You loved it very much. Now this week I took it a step further and posted a duet with my good friend. You can either watch it and love it or watch it and like it. Those are your choices, accept them.
